My problem is that I have gaps up to 5 seconds in my Vonage voice service especially when making internalinal calls. They usually happen after the call last longer thatn 2 or 3 minutes.
I tried upgrading to UVerse Elite, thinking it may be a throughput issue. No change.
I tried reconfiguring my network so that the Vonage router would connect directly to the UVerse box and my computers into the Vonage router’s ports. I thought this would insure priority is given to the voice connection. No change.
Does anybody have any suggestions on what to try next?
Thanks, Jose
I had the same problem with Vonage and Uverse. After many months of working with Vonage Tech Support they finally replaced my Vonage router. Didn't work. Same problem except the new router had to be rebooted on a daily basis.
I finally reached an AT&T tech support representative and after discussing the problem with him he said it sounded like a conflict when both the Vonage router and the Uverse 2Wire were trying to assign IP addresses. He suggested I contact Vonage about setting up the Vonage router as a switch instead of a router. I spoke to Vonage tech support again, Level 3, and they said my router, a Linksys RTP300, could be set up this way and talked me through doing it. It required some cable changes and some programming.
It has now been over a month with no problems.
Hope this helps.
