I have a vizio 42" tv with u-verse and a samsung blu ray player hooked up, and every time i go from the bu ray player back to the u-verse the picture is gone but the sound is still playing for the u-verse. I have u-verse on another tv with a blu ray on it, is this a problem with the tv, the u-verse, the blu ray player or what?

Sounds like a problem with the handoff between hdmi and the tv. Try a different cable from the uverse to the tv and see if it resolves the problem. If your connected through HDMI try component and if that works then try a different HDMI cable (maybe another brand? or just another one peroid).
