I'm getting ready to call AT&T regarding the audio cutting in and out on HD channels. When you first move to a HD station, it works fine. After a couple of minutes, the audio just drops out for like 1\\4 second. Just enough time to miss a word of what someone is saying and make you mad. I actually timed the occurances and, once it starts, it occurs every 20 seconds – which I thought was odd. Switching channels back and forth doesn't help. Going from HD to non-HD and back – hasn't seemed to work. I reset the box and it seemed like it worked for several minutes, but the problem came back.

* I have 2 regular boxes and 1 DVR box in the house

* The Other two boxes do not have this problem

* My amp on the box in question does not do this on any other channels besides the HD channels

Obviously, it could be the box itself. But I wondered if anyone else had experienced this issue.

I only had a few issues with HD last year watching the football games but beyond that it has been working fine. You might have a bad box.

I have the same problem… Thought at first it was only recorded programs since if I rewound program the sound dropped out in the same spot. I have now noticed the sound does drop out during live shows as well. The problem doesn't occur with Blu-Ray discs so I know it's not an issue with the TV itself.

I've called once and was told that ATT had never heard of that happening before – was told if it continued I could try resetting receiver but it would wipe the memory clean and I would lose any recorded programs, as well as all future recordings would need to be reset. And if that didn't work they would have to replace the receiver. Really??

Having the sound drop out for a couple of seconds several times during a program is really irritating…..it sounds like a minor thing but it gets old real quick!
