I recently started with Uverse wireless internet and I cannot get my nintendo Wii to connect Wirelessly. The Nintendo help forums say that the router channels the Wii works best on are 1 and 11, but i dont know how to make settings changes for my Uverse router. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately I don’t have a Wii to test with so I’m uncertain. As far as the router channel I’m not sure that would matter to much. I would think you just need to search for a wireless network from the Wii console, find yours, plug in you Encryption key which should be listed on the base of the RG and it should connect.
You might also try logging into the router and enabling DMZ.
Let me know if that helps any.

I appreciate your help. That was actually part of my question. I have no idea of how to login to the router and check the settings. The Wii recognizes and finds my network, just cant connect for some reason.
If you know how to log on to the router that would be most helpful. Thanks!

In the address bar of either internet explorer or firefox type in 192.168.1.254 and that should take you to the router firmware where all the firewall settings are. The default password should be labeled on the side of the RG where it says “system password”.

the wii will see wireless networks. put in the wireless encryption code into the wii. i think it is the number in brackets on the rg and you should pull an ip address. i don’t believe you need to get into the rg for anything except the encryption code.
