I think the online programming would save your series recordings but not sure what happens to your shows, I would imagine you lose them unless you can find some way to dump them off on your computer and then watch from there until your caught up.

Zapp,
Unfortunately, there are no ways to transfer movies from one DVR to another. You can attempt to stream the recordings to a computer if you really really want them. But the sad truth is that DVRs are intended for temporary storage, even if temporary is until you have to delete some things to save space.
Maybe in the future, but for now AT&T will not support it for copyright infringement.

if your dvr needed replacement, you will lose your recordings.
theres no way to copy the files to your pc, even if you manually open it and attach it to your IDE controller it will be pretty much useless still, because the whole thing is encrypted.

Roxio has had software which works on the mac so I can access my recordings on my Tivo and save them to my Mac to watch at another time, plus I can send things from my Mac to the Tivo, it works both ways and wirelessly too. All AT&T needs to do is work with Roxio, it's already a great feature with TIVO

AT&T sales guys don't seem to know that. The guy that sold us U Verse told us we could watch programs recorded on the DVR on any PC on our network and could also copy them to a DVD. (LIE 1) He also told us all U Verse HD content was 1080P (LIE 2). All the reasons we got U Verse were lies.
