The remote room functions are WAY too limited:

-unable to stop, rewind or fast forward live programming

-unable to delete a recorded program after viewing

-unable to add/remove/change the schedule from the remote tv

I guess we're “lucky” that we have multi-room DVR in the Dallas area, but this is definitely not what I expected.  I may have to go back to DishNetwork if they don't resolve the problem soon.

PS  Both TV's programming has a dithering problem.  I think it must be from too much compression.  Especially on dark scenes or starburst scenes where the color changes gradually.  Instead of a smooth transition of color, there is a very “blotchy” transition.  A similar situation occurs on a computer when you set the display to only use 16 colors.  One of our TV's is an old tube type, the other is a brand new Sony LCD.  I have the TV set to 1080 and the box set to 1080, so I know that's not the problem.  It's a shame to spend all of that money for a TV and HD programming and have that problem.

Don't fear.  Total Home DVR is only in its first phase of release.  AT&T is just making sure the bugs are worked out of this one then in Phase Two you will be able to schedule and delete recordings from any TV in the house.  Phase Three will allow you to pause live TV.

If you want to know a workaround…begin recording a show, any show and instead of watching the live feed, watch the recording.  You can then watch it from any room and have trick functions as well.
