Its a real pain to have to run new wire all over someone's house because they ran their coaxial lines backbone styled instead of homerun styled.

Backbone is a single line running lengthwise through the house with stacked splitters to branch off into the different rooms.

Homerun is several single lines running individually to every room all converging on a central location

An inline signal booster (like the ones used by the cable and satellite companies for years) would alleviate this problem.

Yea its a real pain. I'm threw with coax unless it just hopeless pulling cable in a house. Have not had a return ever on a cat5 install.
