Both TV's programming has a dithering problem.  I think it must be from too much compression.  Especially on dark scenes or starburst scenes where the color changes gradually.  Instead of a smooth transition of color, there is a very "blotchy" transition.  A similar situation occurs on a computer when you set the display to only use 16 colors.  One of our TV's is an old tube type, the other is a brand new Sony LCD.  I have the TV set to 1080 and the box set to 1080, so I know that's not the problem.  It's a shame to spend all of that money for a TV and HD programming and have that problem.
