I'm rapidly filling up my U-Verse DVR and I'm wondering how to add an external harddrive — is that possible?
Thanks, Larry

I think you maybe able to open the box and put a different HD in there by simple plug and play. However, I suggest using a high quality hard drive to prevent lag and also you risk damaging the box so I'm not sure if the project goes bad if AT&T will warrant a free replacement.
Good luck and if you decide to go for it let us know what happens.

Good link, thanks for sharing. I'm willing to bet before too long AT&T will offer a bigger HD in their STB for competitive reasons.

I don't want to open the box, 'cause then I'd own it — I'd rather AT&T own it, and let me rent it from them.
Anybody know what the USB connectors are for on the front and back panels? I've poked around on the Motorola and the U-Verse websites, and haven't found any mention of them yet. I guess I'll plug my laptop into one and see what I can discover …
