We got the whole enchilada last weekend and were excited to have a fiber supported and less expensive whole house system.  It was going to replace the D-TV and att-phone-internet we had.  I got the pay channels and everything for the same cost as I was paying for the same thing on D-TV- or so I thought.

It turns out that those of us used to a TIVO type experince are up for a shock.  You can not pause live tv, you can not even delete a show from the "secondary" unit.  We liked the trailing 30 miniutes of dvr time that you could rewind if you just turned on the tv and want to see the weather…not possible

Another thing is you can not limit the number of shows recorded in a series!  This is particuarly import with the wife exercise shows that she likes to have the two most recent.  Uverse software does NOT have an option to limit the number of episodes.  It just records over the oldest show.

That brings me to the next gripe!  Uverse will not let you prioritize the saved programs to allow you to save that critical eposiode or game from being lost to HGTV…

I need to know what att plans for the next upgrade and when I can expect it in the south bay area.  My wife is not pleased and I am not going to continue paying for both D-TV and att for long to figure it out…
