all of a sudden one of my two tvs(both hooked to uverse boxes) dropped all of the channels and went to a grey screen that showed a picture of a gear and a bar indicating that it may be loading something up similar to a computer.  then it goes to two gears and a bar.  it has been doing this for 1/2 hr. and i can't get it to stop.  the other tv is fine!

guess i'd better buy rabbit ears and go that route instead!!!!!

I would try to powercycle all the CPE and see if comes back up. Maybe a software update that was pushed to your box but that's just a guess.

Let us know how you resolved it, so if other memebers have the same issue we can spread the word.

The stb went into disaster recovery.  That means that it crashed utterly.  If it comes back then fine and dandy.  If it ends up with a "red x" on the screen it means that the box is fried and will have to be replaced.
