my uverse – tv, phone, net… is out since 5 am and not back up yet. called the cust serv center on my break at work, and no help there… no answer as to the issue until i asked if “maybe” there was a service outage in my area… the rep latched onto that and ran with it, immediatly saying yes after fumbling for a few minutes with an answer to my problems… don't know what to do now, and have no phone to call at&t (voip), and can't seem to find anything online to assist me. this sucks.

Same crap here. Called them about 9am…. they wanted to roll a truck out tomorrow. I demanded to talk to their tier 2 department, as I had VDSL sync into the house, just wasn't handing me an IP address – no wire problems. After a lengthy hold, the tier 2 rep immediately upon answering the call, stated there were “hundreds” of VRADs (the boxes they place in each neighborhood, not in your house) out because of the “Weather”….
I am thinking something much bigger, as what are the odds of these things all going down? More likely upstream someplace, as I sync with my VRAD, but don't get a configuration or IP from it… (big) fiber cut someplace?

Do you have a phone lite on line 1 of the rg, if not log into the rg with the home/mdc and type the number on the side of the rg into the box and go to voice/summery. and look in the line one and see if there is your phone number there.

that sucks brandon but call att anyway thats 1-800-288-2020 and ask for help.
theres a big chance that the rep would think that you are not in the premise to troubleshoot so he/she might just offer a callback but explain to them clearly your disposition ok?
hint* you can always ask for tier2 or have your call be transfered to voip services.
goodluck brandon!

1-If the light is out but you have a phone number in the page the rg is bad
2-If the light is out but you dont have a phone number in the page the number has rg or one of the voip server has lost the provisioning of the number to the rg. you will need a ft or try to talk to a voip trained tier 2 agent to get the problem fixed.
if number 2 then they should be able to fix the problem over the phone and not dispatch a ft out. but they probley will anyways, just be patient with it it takes time to rewrite the voip.
