My uverse installation in the Dallas/Fort Worth area is scheduled for next week. When I placed my order, the website said that those who order the HD Technology Fee will get the higher capacity DVR that records up to 65 hours of HD; however, when I call AT&T, they say that they cannot tell me which DVR I will get, and a tech support person says that the higher capacity DVRs aren't available yet. No one is able to say if I will be able to get one at a later date without additional charges. I don't want any surprises on install day, and it seems to me that AT&T isn't delivering what they promised. What can I do? I suppose I could cancel. Has anyone received the higher capacity DVR?

It's hard to say which one you will get, actually I wasn't even aware a new DVR existed. Please post back with anything you find out so we can start investigating to this new HD DVR. I'm sure there are a lot users highly interested.
Thanks for the first time post, welcome to the forums!

There are 2 brands of set top boxes and dvr's. It depends where you live as to which one you will get. In the Dallas/Ft worth area they use the Motorola boxes. Other places they use the Cisco boxes. Where I work, we install the Cisco boxes so any information I have will be on that standard. If you are getting HD installed on your order, you should get the high capacity DVR. The only difference between the standard and high capacity DVR is the size of the hard drive. Standard dvr's use a 160 gb hard drive. The high capacity dvr uses a 320 gb hard drive. They both have the same connections and support the same services and standards. They are almost identical with the only difference being the model number on the outside of the dvr box. Be sure to ask your installer about it since they are the ones who install all of the set top boxes and dvr's.
