U-Verse is new to my area. I'm switching from Comcast on Monday. Currently on free on demand, I get things like ABC (Lost, Ugly Betty) and Comedy Central (Sarah Silverman). Will I get those free shows on demand with U-Verse?

Also, should I expect any issues with the Internet, I have an older laptop (XP), which I'll eventually replace. Also thinking of getting a non-AT&T smartphone (Droid) with WIFi, should I be able to connect that with my U-Verse wifi?

Uverse U300 has been excellent for the past year.  Yes, the install was quite time consuming as mentioned.  What took mine longer than 6 hours is installer and ATT tech support were trying to figure out why my 4 year old DELL laptop would not connect.  They got it figured out!  Then a few weeks later my laptop wireless would keep loosing the signal.    I called and one tech figured it out that my Dell wi-fi card connection was the problem and had me change a setting for Microsoft software to make the connection to the DELL card.  Something like that.  Been great ever since.   You can expect HD picture quality better than Directv, fast internet speed, and tremendous technical support!   My old DELL laptop, my wife is using, and bought a new i5 Asus laptop 7 months ago for myself.  My wife is a professional DVR program operator 24/7!  Enjoy your Uverse!
