Supersonic Dave or any other Techs— I heard from a landline tech who was troubleshooting my line that a new software is supposed to be rolled out nationwide before June 2009. This software would allow for more than 4 videofeeds into the home and help those currently can only get 1 HD feed. Have you heard anything about this and the expected rollout date? Thanks

I had heard something very vague about this. I believe it was scheduled for 2nd quarter (mid year).

There is going to be a update in april to fix alot of fixes. What your tech was talking about was pair bonding when you bring 2 pairs together for one service. It is very unlikely to come about b/c of the lack of cable pairs. When uverse is put in somewhere all the living units are condition which means every house has a dedicated pair for uverse for that house only. They dont even want ir techs cutting to a new pair they are supposed to remove all trouble from the line Which is sometimes imposable.

Is this where they take two twisted pairs and fuse them together for one connection?

I've been on with U-Verse tier 2 tech today about the long standing issue of sound cut out using optical cables on HD channels.
He asked me to wait another 3 weeks (after nine months, I guess I can wait another 3 weeks) at which time a major software upgrade is being rolled out. He told me that they have addressed the optical sound issue as well as major changes to the menu system and available options.
Anybody else heard anything?

When they are talking about pair bonding it will be like a t1 line. and simon i have read about the issues about that i have not personally ran in to any problem with it but most people dont use the optical cable.

INID-today there is a work going on for a pair bonging solution. It is not like a T1. A T1 can function on a single pair using HDSL technology. It is designed for long haul customers who can't get U-verse today. In the future the INID will be a single pair solution. This allows for testing and knowing if the problem is inside the prem or in the plant. Today since the VDSL signal terminates at the RG, there is always a possiblity that the issue may be in the homerun to the RG.
