Hello Everyone,

I just had uverse set up in Los Angeles on Friday. I was using Charter Cable with TIVO for two years. I am trying to get used to the new system. Obviously right away I have major issues:

1. Compatiblity with TIVO. I already own 2 Tivo series 2 boxes which according to the installers are not supported by TIVO. Has anyone hacked and made them work together.

2. No multi-room DVR. As said in question #1 I had two DVRs now I am down to 1. If AT&T would support multiple DVRs then I wouldn't miss TIVO at all.

3. Ability download video from box to PC. With TIVO I downloaded all my shows and burned them to a DVD. I could bring files to work and watch. Will this be supported soon?

4. WISHLISTS …. perhaps this feature is there and I have not learned it yet, but TIVO has this functionality where I could set it to record any show that relates to a particular subject, say "Rwanda" or "Islam" or whatever I choose.

5. That weird lag time … I try to perform certain operations and I get this bizarre wait time. Will anything be done on this?

For now that is all?

I agree there are definitely improvements that need to be made. I hear the Multi-room DVR should be out by end of this year or sometime the beginning of 2008 but nothing in stone that I have heard of yet.

Likely when the come out with the Multi-room they will also launch a PC to TV application since it's all networked together, just a matter of time.

I wish I had a Tivo to play with, so I can't really answer those questions. I don't see why it wouldn't work if you just configured it to the service it should pick up all the information I would imagine but am not positive or if all the features would still work as normal.

I'm not sure about the lag but that my be the box. I have been with several different providers and seems like there is always a little lag with the Guide on DVR. I'm thinking Tivo is hard to compete with, it's probably built better than these cheap boxes they give you for free.

They set up fiber optic up the street, but used the existing copper wires to come into my house

They should be using coax on all other tvs, only the main tv should have cat5 from the RG to the tv and receiver
