Horrible Customer Service from AT&T

The idea and service is actually fairly decent not withstanding the freezing screens which AT&T seems content with.  The customer service side is decidedly worse than Comcast which we ditched due to their customer service.

We missed a payment by mistake last month but were notified by AT&T and paid both months.  However they cut off our service, internet and TV.  After notifying payment had been sent 5 days earlrier they agreed to restore.  Did not happen.  I then paid again early on Saturday via check by phone and they said service will be restored no later than 24 hours; did not happen.  Consequently I missed the Masters final.  Come ttom find out the billing department has to reactivate but they do not work weekends. 

This combined with freezing screens, the BS about recording four programs at a time (that would actually be two HD programs), internet issues such as slow downloads has done us in.

I will be goinng back to a different service but hopefully if anyone is teatering on going to AT&T Unverse, DO NOT!Cry

Many have had no troubles with U-verse. Also, they advertise 4 SD streams so that's pretty normal. Sorry you had a bad experience. I'm little confused, are you saying they didn't restore you after the weekend on a late payment suspend? I guess I'm confused by you saying you paid early and missed a payment, seems to contradict each other. I'm not trying defend anything I'm just trying grasp what happened so others can learn from your experience. Did you pay late or early? 

Sounds like you may have paid late and they told you one thing would happen and that wasn't the truth. If that's the case I think it's important for U-verse to set the correct expectations that way they don't disappoint their customers when something else happens.

I have been quite Happy with our U300 with TV, Internet, and phone since installed 12 months ago.  I have had internet connection problems, but their tech support has been right on top and my newest reset has been trouble free for 3 months.  No loosing internet wireless signal.   My experience with ATT customer support has been really good to resolve issues.

I received a $6.00/mo increase a couple weeks ago as year contract is up this month.  I called ATT Customer Service for reduced rate and gave me a 6 month reduced rate!  The Supervisor also told me to call back on Feb 11 and can offer me $5.00 reduced monthly rate on internet service.  This all took about 15 minutes on the phone.  I got what I wanted with no hassles to keep a customer happy.

I had DirectTV since 1993 and then moved to Janesville, WI where we had all kinds of satelitte signal connection problems, even on a clear day.  Had enough of that over 4 years and switched to ATT a year ago.  They just put ATT Uverse service in 2 years ago in our community.   I find that the HD picture quality is a bit better than Directv too!

AT&T Uverse is the best!!Wink
