Just curious about the heat that is generated and the electricity consumed by the receivers. Should they be this hot? Also, the lights on receivers are bright enough to interfere with sleep… any suggestions?

You can put electric tape over the led's if it's bothering you just make sure not to cover the ir sensor. Just play with the location of the tape and as long as the remote still functions you should be fine. If it's getting really hot make sure the box is in a well vented area, if your concerned you might call support to make sure you don't have a malfunctioning box.
