I need some help. The sound has been going out when recordings are fast forwarded or reversed. This has been going on for the past month. Is there a known problem with the DVR units? The DVR is connected to the plasma via HDMI. Also yesterday the optical feed into my receiver/amplifier went bad. I don't know if this is related to my first problem, or the cable went bad, or the unit fried the input connector on the receiver/amplifier? Does this sound like the unit is degrading. Is this a known problem. Let me know what to do. If the DVR damaged my receiver/amplifier then we really have a problem!

Is it going completely out? What happens if you restart the recording and play straight through the video?
