I have a show that will not erase. It says that it is being played on another DVR. Yet, my other DVR does not have this recording on it list. It is not being played on another DVR. Since it won't erase, none of my other shows will erase automatically. My DVR is full and will not record any new shows unless I manually delete shows. How do I get rid of this show?

Try unplugging all the boxes but the DVR and then try to delete.

Let us know.

This happened to me today. I tried to record a program, was told I had to record it manually. I did that, watched the show and now it won't erase, same message that it's playing on another set. Which it isn't. Not only that but each time I've tried to erase it it adds the recording time, it's now showing '59 minutes' three times for the show length. I'm trying to erase it for more room but it looks like I've tripled the time instead!

I came here to find out how to resolve this, but I don't know what 'unplugging all the boxes' means. Which boxes? Unplug them from the wall? Unplug them from the TV? From the cable? I have two DVRs, the main one and a secondary one. Both are connected to the DVR to the TV through a video recorder. I don't want to unplug anything that would erase the programs I haven't watched yet. Help!

Unplug the power to the boxes that are not DVR's to isolate the DVR and then try to delete the program. If your getting a message saying you can not delete because it's in use I would assume pulling the plug to the non dvr boxes would isolate the issue.
