msnbc, wmax and others don't allow recording?

My dad watches keith obermann every night, but he gets back late so he can't always watch it. He hates commercials, and often has to run in and out and pause the show. Now it says msnbc doesn't allow recordings.

So we stopped watching keith obermann… Its horrible.

I looked all over the web to try and figure out if other people are complaining about so called "recording restrictions", and I have found none so far. I hope I am not the first person to complain about this, and I certainly hope I am not the last.

So today I tried recording "A beautiful mind" and it says, "Channel 1842 WMAXHD Doesn't allow recording."

I don't have time to watch the show straight through.

I'm so angry right now…

I'm going through various channels to see what I can and can't record.

What can I do so I can record things?

Okay this is odd because i just tested this and I'm able to record MSNBC and actually tested recording a Keith Obermann show specifically and it recorded just fine. In my area it's channel 215/1215 (HD), I only have U200 package with HD.

As long as the channel is in your area I wasn't aware of any recording restrictions. You might try unplugging your DVR and replugging it so it will powercycle, if that doesn't work call support.

To my knowledge you can record all channels your subscribed as long as the error is not that you have too many recordings going at the same time and I don't believe you can record pay per view either. But it sounds like your getting something totally different.
