Hello all,
I found this site searching for help with my problem. I'm hoping you all might be able to.
About two months ago a download was sent to my STB. It installed it and rebooted. After that happened we lost the menus for "premium" channels in the VoD sectoin. I only pay for HBO, but it's missing as well. I still get the live HBO channels and he HD ones, it's just that the menu for VoD has vanished. It stayed like that for about two weeks, then we get another update. This time after the restart we now cannot record TV, scheduled or manual, and it deleted EVERYTHING I had already recorded. I thought maybe something had just got a little messed up, so I did a soft reboot…. still missing…. unplug, let set 5 mins, plug in…. still missing. I figure at this point there's no harm in doing a factory reset and maybe it will fix my HBO VoD problem…. nope. Just to check, the restart method I used was to unplug the device, hold down the OK button and the down arrow and then plug it back in. Is that the right way? The gears came up and it spent about 15 minutes doing that. As a side note, I have also down a factory reset on the RG, so it's not that either.
Anyway, the factory reset didn't fix anything. Still can't record and the VoD menus for Premium channels are still missing. I know I *should* call tech support, but their hours are 9-5 M-F… I work 8-5 M-F. Kind of hard to call them at work and since I'm not at the apartment, I can't give them any information other than, "It's broke." Is there ANYTHING else you would recommend trying? If I have to call tech support and they have to come out, I'm going to have to miss work to do it and REALLY don't want to have to do that.
Sorry this post is so long, but I wanted to make sure you had all of the information I knew to give. Any help or thoughts are appreciated.
Ben
