the dvr receiver goes static and i cant watch recordings on other tvs, have to reboot dvr twice in a row. its happen twice in one week

Sounds like your DVR is overheating and crashing. Is it in a small location like a cabinet or somewhere it wouldn't get good air flow. Also, you could do a factory reset but you would lose all your recordings and settings. Third you can get AT&T to your house and likely they will replace the DVR.
