You have to do it in conjunction with a set top box, you can't not connect directly to your TV tuner like cable U-verse requires you to use your set top box.

1.) Connect your set top box to your computer TV tuner using S-video (This seems to work best for most people, most can't get a picture with any other connection than S-video)

2.) Connect audio using a the audio out cable that splits to the red/white (I don't know the proper term for this cable)

3.) You need a media center remote, IR Blaster, and IR Reciver.  I suggest the Mediagate GP-IR02BK which I personally use and able to get to work with U-verse vip 1200 series to my computer. It's a little tricky to program the remote but it's very possible.
