Had the tech out today to look at this, and after a couple of hours he essentially gave up.  First time I had any contact with any UVerse people that didn't go well.

So with nearly any web site, on any of the three computers in my home, when I request a web page, sometimes it's blazingly fast (I'm paying for 12gb).  But most often, I click on a link, or type a URL, and then it just sits there for 10-30 seconds, displaying nothing.  Then BAM! the whole page slams onto the monitor so fast it appears almost instantly.

The tech came out today and tried hard, but in the end, he started blaming stupid things on my computer (like the wireless setup program my company puts on the corporate laptop), and even my plumbing though he was getting a Wi-Fi reading of 96% on the computer that sits 5 feet from the gateway) just to get out of the house.  Even told me that if I wanted a new gateway I'd have to pay $100 for it.

I think the signal is sort of intermittent.  My family says that when they are watching UVerse TV, the signal is lost completely for long enough for them to give up on it (I have not seen this myself but I don't doubt them).  I have Vonage phone connected via Ethernet to the RG and it's always worked fine until recently, now it comes and goes and about half the time, my callers say they can't understand anything I say on that phone.

I have loved this service for two years now and tell all my friends & neighbors about it.  But this has me thinking it's about time to give it back to Time-Warner.
