Over the last couple of weeks I have noticed that my DVR has started making a annoying humming sound. It sounds as if the harddrive is getting ready to sizzle, smoke, and leave me with a melted hope of recovery TV shows that I love to watch.
However, nothing has been impacted at all just makes the noise. I powercycle and it goes away for a day or two but comes back eventually and doesn’t go away until another powercycle.
Anyone else having this trouble?

Well, late the other night I was looking through my On Demand and noticed that now it showed HBO and Cinemax. This was a major surprise because prior this was unavailable in our market. I don’t subscribe to U-400 but U-300 but still could view the two movies packages in the VOD menu, which seemed full of various titles.
I don’t have a lot of details on the new offering but it seems like U-verse is pushing for more On Demand to make the product more marketable.
Let us know if you have subscribe to these packages in other markets like and are able to get these VOD options. As far as where aware of the HBO/Cinemax VOD is only in Texas right now but we may be wrong.

1.) The Price - as far as I’m concerned I seem to get more for around the same amount of money. More bandwidth, more channels, just more!
2.) Reliability - The service seems to work very well, I have had very few issues and very little down time.
3.) The structure - Since U-verse uses a fiber network the possibilities for the future are pretty much endless. Also, the Video is IPTV, which will network everything together and eventually change the way we watch television.
4.) Speed - Although their data plans are not the fastest plans out there they are still good and very stable. Almost, ever time I run a speed test I get nearly all of the speed I’m paying for.
5.) Simple - I love the how easy the TV service is to use. The programming guide is very straight forward and actually kind of sleek in design. It has a PIP feature, so you can preview the channels and fast channel change. Internet is pretty straight forward and comes with a 4 - port wireless router.
So why do you like U-verse?
