Okay, I’m not positive if this has happened in all markets but I assume not. However, good news to all because if you haven’t received the new Uverse updates, I would but only assume it’s coming soon to your area. I was watching TV late Friday night when all of a sudden I noticed the U-verse guide had a much more cleaner look to it. I knew at this point an updated had pushed through and could only hope my wishes had come true for the long waited DVR updates. Since, I was watching TV in my bedroom I could immediately test the functionality of the whole room DVR and to my amazement I could record, schedule, erase, edit and make any changes to my DVR settings from my non-DVR STB’s. However, I did try pause, rewind, and etc and none of those features will function on the non DVR, nor did I really expect them to since there is no hard drive.
I’m pretty ecstatic right now, and wish I could get some clean shots with my camera but I can’t seem to get the settings down right to get some clear pictures of the screen. So, if anyone else has a camera that can take quality pictures of the new Uverse Guide and DVR functionality please share them! After I realized the DVR functionality and new guide I decided to see what else I could find that was new, so I started googling around. I found this press release from AT&T which promises the new updates as described, a promised speed increased for U-verse max customers, new on demand top picks, updated navigation guide (which I described early), free Starz for the month of July, and an updated Web Remote Access GUI. It seems AT&T was listening to it’s customers and has made a good push to deliver the features the users have been requesting.
First let’s start with the new guide, which I can already notice a big difference. It just seems more stable and responsive which is great. Also, there are enhanced color schemes, nothing major but you can definitely tell the difference, it feels more welcoming with the new shades of blue they used.
Second, the web remote access has updated for me and it looks really good and acts stable. I’m not sure when the web remote access updated because I rarely used it but it’s definitely changed since last time I logged in. I was able to grab a clear screen shot, so check it out for yourself below. Can’t wait for the discussion to start update tomorrow!

P.S. I’m writing this post pretty late at night, I will try to update anything else I find as we go along.
